🍽️ What’s Cooking?

IHOP launches first-ever everyday value menu to meet demand for affordability

On September 15, IHOP introduced its first permanent everyday value menu, featuring four breakfast combos priced at $6 (some locations $7). The meals are available daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at participating U.S. locations. Menu choices include a “Breakfast Faves Combo,” “Ham & Cheese Omelette,” “French Toast Faves Combo,” and “House Scramble” — each served with sides like pancakes or hash browns. The move comes amid rising food prices and changing consumer behavior, and is supported by a new campaign called “Happy Plates,” aimed at value-conscious diners. Read more.

“Role-Spot Relay” to reduce overlap and boost clarity

Create a set of visible role-cards (e.g. “Sauce Maker,” “Grill Lead,” “Expediter,” “Runner”) and assign them at the start of each shift. Post the cards on a board where they can be moved or flagged during service. If someone finishes their role or moves to help another station, they place their card in a “Help Needed” slot. Supervisors or fellow staff can immediately see where extra hands are needed. This reduces duplicate work, improves cross-station support, and keeps staff more aware of each other’s domains.
